Recently, measurements of the electrical resistivity, rho, of the liqu
id Sr-Bi and ST-Sb systems have been performed as a function of temper
ature for the entire concentration range. A very high and sharp resist
ivity maximum occurs at 60 at.% Sr for both systems, indicating that t
he mixture is semiconducting at this composition. Comparison with the
Mg-Bi system is made and an attempt is made to give an explanation in
terms of ionic ordering.
