Abstract
Activities of the tricarboxylic acid cycle enzyme, citrate synthase (C S), in Acartia tonsa and Temora longicornis were significantly affecte d by varying nutritional conditions. Activities were lower in unfed gr oups of both species by 24 h and continued to be different at 36 h. CS activity can be readily measured in individual copepods and the activ ity of metabolic enzymes, particularly CS, has potential for assessing the nutritional condition of copepods.
