Abstract
Infertility is a problem commonly seen in the primary care office, aff ecting one in every six couples. Causes of infertility and basics of t he infertility assessment are described in this article. Therapeutic o ptions are discussed. The role of the primary care provider in the dia gnosis, treatment, and support of the infertile couple is defined.
