RADIOLYSIS STUDY OF SULFARLEM, A SULFURED ANTIOXIDANT, IN LINOLEIC-ACID MICELLAR SYSTEM

Sulfarlem is a dithiol-thione derivative which exhibits antioxidant pr operties. The study of the possible radical mechanisms involved in thi s action have been studied by mean of steady state radiolysis in aerat ed linoleic acid micellar system. The experimental results indicate th at the presence of Sulfarlem in the irradiated medium decreases the de gradation of linoleic acid and the formation of conjugated dienes, sul farlem being consumed proportionaly to the absorbed dose.
