Abstract
Two novel dimeric labdane diterpenoids, scapaundulins A (4) and B (5), have been isolated from the ether extract of the Japanese liverwort S capania undulata (L.) Dum., together with three new labdane diterpenoi ds (1-3) and their structures characterized by spectroscopic technique s, especially 2D-NMR and mass spectrometry. The structures of scapaund ulins possess a C-2 axis of symmetry. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
