Abstract
Many employers face substantial yet unexpected liability for violation s of federal and state wage and hour laws. Most overtime-pay violation s arise from misconceptions about who must be paid overtime and when. Others arise from technical violations of little-known regulations. Wh ether inadvertent or unintentional most waage and hour violations can be easily avoided with careful planning and drafting. This article exa mines a few of the most common-and potentially expensive-myths and mis conceptions about overtime pay.
