We describe a preterm infant of 32 weeks' gestation with hydrops fetal
is due to intrauterine supraventricular tachycardia. On the second day
of life, cranial ultrasound showed a mainly right-sided periventricul
ar leukomalacia already with porencephalic cysts. These findings were
confirmed by autopsy. An association of intrauterine tachycardia with
periventricular leukomalacia must be assumed.
