Present and future potential for industrial starch utilization is disc
ussed. Comparison is rude amongst different actual and potential indig
enous sources for starch. Quality aspects of raw material are highligh
ted and improvement of crop yield and quality are also discussed. Poss
ibilites of broadening the raw material basis are outlined and new dev
elopments for the industrial application are demonstrated.
