Abstract
New methodology to prepare highly oxygenated cyclohexenylsulfones by r egioselective beta-elimination of phenylsulfonyl-7-oxabicyclo[2.2.1]he ptane derivatives has been developed. The application to the total syn thesis of carba-sugars and amino carba-sugars is described.
