H. Bergmann et K. Hertwig, NEW RESULTS OF MODELING OF REACTORS WITH PARTICLE ELECTRODES FOR THE ELECTROCHEMICAL WASTE TREATMENT, Chemische Technik, 45(2), 1993, pp. 77-87
Following an estimation of the application of electrochemical methods
for environmental protection, the central part of this work presents n
ew results of mathematical modelling. Mathematical models for special
flow regimes and bed geometries are described in relation to electroch
emical fixed bed reactors, The model simulation was implemented with t
he help of kinetic equations for copper deposition from sulutions cont
aining sulphuric acid. Furthermore, the results of modelling, which ar
e relevant to practise, are shown for the new VMPB-reactor, developed
at the Technical University Kothen, e.g. the calculation of temperatur
e- and concentration-time behaviour for electrochemical cells connecte
d in seria and in parallel, or the time dependent behaviour of current
density distribution across the particle bed, when the cell current i
s held constant or variable with respect to time.
