The treatment of acute frontal sinusitis is extremely important, as th
e potential for significant morbidity exists. we conducted a survey of
140 members of the Northwest Academy of OtolarYngology to determine h
ow this disease entity is most commonly treated in our region. Eighty-
one members responded From this data it is evident that the surgical t
reatment of uncomplicated frontal sinusitis is changing, but antimicro
bial therapy remains standard. Adjunctive medical therapy is frequentl
y used, but the effectiveness of these agents in reversing underlying
disease pathophysiology is unknown.
