Abstract
The temperature dependence of the bandwidth, gain and noise figure of an erbium doped fibre amplifier in the temperature range 77-343 K, whe n pumped at 1.48 mum is reported. A quantitative evaluation of the amp lifier performance around conventional operating temperatures for diff erent signal wavelengths is also presented.
