A. Kobayashi et al., SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF ACTIVE INGREDIENTS IN COMMERCIAL INSECTICIDE FORMULATIONS BY CAPILLARY GC, Bunseki Kagaku, 42(5), 1993, pp. 77-81
A capillary GC method was developed for the determination of 21 active
ingredients, including nine pyrethroidal insecticides, in the commerc
ially available insecticide formulations (aerosol, mosquito coil and m
at). These active ingredients were separated on a DB-17 fused silica c
apillary column (0.53 mm i.d. and 30 m in length), and determined at 1
00-->260-degrees-C using benzyl benzoate as an internal standard. When
d-tetramethrin and d-phenothrin were admixed in insecticide formulati
ons they could not be separated from each other, but could be separate
d on a DB-23 fused silica capillary column (0.53 mm i.d. and 15 m in l
ength). The results of this determination agreed with those obtained u
sing packed columns.
