Abstract
Use is made of the reference phase of low peak factor multiharmonic si gnals in identification experiments. It is shown that the reference ph ase can be used to suppress the transient of a large time constant dur ing excitation, allowing significant reductions in experimental time. It is also shown that reference phasing can eliminate the output drift inherent when testing type 2 systems.
