SUCCESSFUL MEDICAL-TREATMENT OF EPITHELIOID HEMANGIOENDOTHELIOMA OF LIVER

Hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (HEH) is a rare vascular tumo r of the liver of unknown etiology. Although HEH is usually characteri zed by a low grade malignancy and a good long-term prognosis, its grow th can be progressive and lead to hepatic failure, extrahepatic metast asis and death. Several different antineoplastic agents have been prop osed for cases of nonresectable HEH. We report the case of a 45-year-o ld man with HEH successfully treated with intravenous infusion of Adri amycin.
