The method of molecular dynamics is used to model equilibrium clusters
in a two-dimensional gas of Lennard-Jones particles near the saturati
on line and in the supercritical region. The classification of such cl
usters is discussed along with criteria for distinguishing them during
modeling. Also examined are the effect of different clusters on the p
roperties of a real gas, the kinetics of clusters, and the establishme
nt of equilibri-properties in the system. An empirical equation is pro
posed for nucleation rate.
