Abstract
1,2,3,5-Tetrakis(trifluoromethyl)benzene reacts with phenyl-lithium or t-butyl-lithium to give mixtures of de-aromatised products, derivativ es of 2,5- and 2,4-cyclohexadiene-1-ylidene of molecular composition C 10H2F10Ph2, C10H2F9Ph3, C10H2F10Bu2t and C10H3F10But. The X-ray crysta l structure of the triphenyl derivative has been obtained. The H-1, F- 19 and C-13 NMR data provide a satisfactory proof for the structures o f the other compounds.
