Abstract
A soliton spectral tunnelling effect (SSTE) is predicted. This is char acterised in the spectral domain by the passage of a femtosecond solit on through a potential barrier-like spectral inhomogeneity of group ve locity dispersion (GVD), including the forbidden band of positive GVD.
