Abstract
A new 3-D wavelet transform (WT) coding algorithm for blocks of image sequences is presented. Results are presented for the performance of t he new algorithm compared to existing 3-D WT coding methods and the co nventional CCITT H.261 scheme. The main attraction of the new algorith m over existing methods is the high compression ratios achievable with good reconstruction quality.
