Abstract
Two novel optically transparent nodes for photonic ring networks are d escribed. The network allows different nodes to communicate at differe nt bit rates, allowing high bit rate nodes to operate simultaneously w ith low bit rate nodes. Operation of the two nodes is demonstrated exp erimentally.
