Fifteen new phage lambda vectors are discussed: lambdaSK4, lambdaSK6,
lambdaSK10, lambdaSK16, lambdaSK17, lambdaSK20, lambdaSK21, lambdaSK22
, lambdaSK23, lambdaSK24, lambdaSK25, lambdaSK27, lambdaSK28, lambdaSK
40 and lambdaSK41. Their structural and functional features facilitate
the implementation of a number of new strategies and cloning procedur
es which simplify, economize and vastly improve the utility and effici
ency of library construction in lambda vectors. Such improved strategi
es and examples of their application, with particular reference to jum
ping and linking libraries, are presented.
