Abstract
We describe a two-arm magnetic spectrometer for investigating the prod uction of the particles with large transverse component of the momentu m in intensive proton and pion beams. The trajectories of the particle s are measured with a system of drift and proportional chambers. The p articles are identified using a Cherenkov-ring spectrometer and a muon identifier. The installation can be turned as a whole about the targe t by an angle as large as 160 mrad.
