Abstract
Under contract with the Department of Energy, EER is developing a NO(x ) control process with potential to reduce NO(x) emissions from coal f ired utility boilers by up to 85 %. CombiNO(x) is a family of NO(x) re duction processes which involves the synergistic application of combin ations of technologies such as staged combustion, reburning, selective non-catalytic reduction (SNCR), and methanol injection. Any combinati on of these technologies can be applied to achieve a desired NO(x) red uction in a given boiler. Integration of these processes may be site-s pecific depending on boiler configuration and required emission limits .
