Abstract
A simulator is described for calibrating and checking pulsed instrumen ts for monitoring moving rolled steel sheet. The simulator provides a field gradient and field in the working area such that the gradients i n space and time have a distribution analogous to the distribution of the gradient due to the magnetized sheet moving locally in either dire ction.
