Abstract
Comparison of solvatochromic shift of fluorescent probes attached to v arious supports with values obtained for the free probes in the same s et of solvents is a way to examine the micro-environment of the fluoro phore. Interpretation of emission spectra of dansyl probes bonded to n ative or neutralized silica. either directly or via polar or non-polar polymers, allows determination of the influences of organic and inorg anic parts in bi-supported functional sites.
