Abstract
An acute polyradiculoneuropathy and ocular myasthenia were the neurolo gical manifestations of (re)active Epstein-Barr Virus infection in a 5 6-year old previously healthy man. High level of early antigen antibod ies in the serum, elevated CSF protein and CSF cells correlated with t he clinical improvement unitil sixteen months after onset of the disea se. This case is unique among reports of EBV-associated neurological d iseases and reflects that the use of new diagnostic tools such as EBV antibodies and AChR antibodies may be an important supportive measure towards an accurate neurological diagnosis.
