Abstract
The pituitary secretory proteins growth hormone (GH) and prolactin (PR L) do not, as yet, have major roles in haematology or immunology. Rece nt evidence indicates that these hormones are haemopoietic growth fact ors and exert immunomodulatory functions at physiological concentratio ns. Here Robert Hooghe and colleagues discuss the significance of thes e hormones on different aspects of the immune system.
