Abstract
The synthesis and luminescence properties arc reported for 20 differen t chelates composed of 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine as the energy-absorbing and donating group, Eu(III) and Tb(III) as the emitting ions, methyle nenitrilo(acetic acids) as the stable chelate-forming moieties, and is othiocyanato or (4,6-dichloro-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)amino groups as the a ctivated moieties for coupling to biomolecules.
