The inflorescences of Macroptilium prostratum (BENTH.) URBAN var. pros
tratum, M. fraternum (PIPER) LACKEY, M. lathyroides (L.) URBAN and M.
atropurpureum (L.) URBAN were typologically investigated. All these sp
ecies are characterized by truncate, polytelic synflorescences and by
synflorescence proliferation. The secondary paracladia are reduced to
their coflorescences.
