Rc. Carter et Pb. Kohberger, USING SPSS PC+ AND NOTIS DOWNLOADED FILES OF CURRENT SUBSCRIPTION RECORDS AT THE UNIVERSITY-OF-PITTSBURGH/, Library resources & technical services, 37(2), 1993, pp. 227-235
Information about current serial subscriptions at the University of Pi
ttsburgh was downloaded from the local NOTIS system to SPSS/PC+ on a p
ersonal computer. The use of SPSS/PC+ greatly enhanced the ability to
analyze the university's subscription records. SPSS/PC+ has enabled Pi
tt to determine subscription holdings by geographical area and to mana
ge payment and publisher information about active subscriptions. Using
SPSS/PC+ grants the ability to write quick and easy programs to facil
itate rapid responses to bibliographers' requests for a variety of sub
scription information.
