Specimens are examined with a narrow beam of monochromatic gamma quant
a to study density changes in solid and liquid platinum caused by temp
erature and phase transformations. Experiments are performed on a new
high-temperature gamma-densitometer. A description is given of the exp
erimental stand. A comparison of the measurements and the most reliabl
e literature data demonstrates the high metrological characteristics o
f the unit.
