Abstract
2-Bromopyridine derivatives 2a-2c were prepared. Compounds 2b and 2c a nd ammonia yielded aminopyridines 3b and 3c which were converted to im idazo[1,2-a]pyridine derivatives 4b and 4c. Compound 4b was nitrated g iving the analogue 5b of metronidazole 1.
