Abstract
We design, implement, and test an optical joint transform correlator, using a nonlinear optically addressed ferroelectric liquid-crystal spa tial light modulator in the Fourier plane. This compact correlator per forms real-time and on-board recognition tasks. Results of in-car expe riments for road sign recognition in real environments are presented.
