Abstract
Protolloydolithus, known from the Ordovician of Britain and Portugal, also occurs in the Armorican Massif, in Llandeilo siltstones from the Andouille Formation (Laval synclinorium). The sudden appearance of the genus, linked to a transgressive event, can be considered as the resu lt of an immigration from southern Britain into the deep water parts o f the Armorican shelf.
