Abstract
A dilatometric method was used to determine the deformations of organo substituted Pyzhevsk montmorillonite and synthetic fluorohectorite upo n the adsorption of water, hexane, and benzene vapor. These results we re compared with the adsorption calorimetry data. The dilatometric met hod was shown to be highly sensitive to structural changes of the lami nar silicates.
