Abstract
The superconducting properties and crystal structure of the Li1-xTi2O4 compound have been studied as a function of lithium stoichiometry. We show that the presence of a maximum in the Tc(x) cur-ve is the result of the competition between the effects of the decrease in lithium sto ichiometry and those induced by a gradual increase in Ti network disor der.
