Abstract
Oxygen deficient YBa2Cu3O7-delta powder samples with a well defined ox ygen stoichiometry delta have been prepared at various temperatures an d characterized by TEM, AC susceptibility and magnetization measuremen ts. The interdependence between structural ordering and superconductin g properties is discussed and a structural model based on a short rang e ordering of oxygen in the Cu-O chains responsible for superconductiv ity is proposed.
