Abstract
Precursors to high-performance ceramics, based on poly[(silylene)diace tylene]-metal oxide composites (see figure). are reported. On thermal conversion under nitrogen, carboreduction and nitridation of the encap sulated metal oxide take place, resulting in the formation of SiC-meta l nitride ceramics with well-defined composition profiles.
