P. Bengtsson et al., ELECTRICAL NOISE CHARACTERISTICS OF CARBON BLACK-FILLED LINEAR LOW-DENSITY POLYETHYLENE NEAR THE PERCOLATION-THRESHOLD, Polymer engineering and science, 33(9), 1993, pp. 573-580
Electrical noise measurements have been used to study electrical condu
ction in carbon black-filled linear low density polyethylene. Measurem
ents of the resistivity. real part of the relative permittivity, therm
al noise, and current noise have been carried out for carbon black con
tents and temperatures below, near, and above the percolation threshol
d for electrical conduction. The current noise shows a 1/f(alpha) freq
uency dependence, with alpha near unity close to the percolation thres
hold, but increasing to 1.5 at higher resistivities or temperatures.
