Abstract
This study reports the presence of 30 species of bats collected at dif ferent altitudes in the north of Antioquia Department, Colombia. The s pecies captured belong to five families, six subfamilies and 18 genera . All listed pertain to the suborder Microchiroptera, order Chiroptera and the mayority to the family Phyllostomidae. The most abundant spec ies were Artibeus lituratus, Carollia perspicillata and Molossus molos sus. Six tipes of diets were catalogued for the captured specimens. Mo st abundant were fruit eaters, followed by insectivorous and nectivoro us bats. Very few fish eaters, camivors or omnivors were found. No vam pires were captured, although their presence was noted in the typical bite marks seen on cows and horses of the region.
