V. Formisano et al., THE VNIR-VIMS EXPERIMENT FOR CRAF-CASSINI, Nuovo cimento della Societa italiana di fisica. C, Geophysics and space physics, 15(6), 1992, pp. 1179-1192
We describe a multispectral camera in the wavelength range of (0.35 di
vided-by 1.050) mum. VNIR constitutes the visible channel of the VIMS
(Visual near-Infrared Mapping Spectrometer) instrument designed for th
e Craf/Cassini NASA mission to the Hamburga asteroid and the outer gia
nt planets, Jupiter and Saturn. Possible scientific investigations are
analysed and a detailed technical description of the VNIR experiment
is given.
