Abstract
Direct infrared-spectroscopic measurements and indirect methods have b een used in a study of the reaction of butadiene epoxide with the chie f components of an emulsion polymerization system: anionic and nonioni c emulsifiers, hydroperoxide initiators, and molecular-weight regulato rs. Possible mechanisms have been suggested and the dosage of componen ts for maximum reaction established.
