We have performed a comprehensive identification programme of opticall
y faint extragalactic IRAS sources by use of deep R band CCD images fo
r 99 sources. We present positions and the morphological structure of
the optical counterparts as well as co-added IRAS fluxes. Integral R b
and photometry is given for 67 IRAS sources and a total of 113 galaxie
s. Also B band photometric data are listed for 51 IRAS sources and 88
galaxies in total. Furtheron, redshifts for 53 IRAS sources and a tota
l of 87 individual galaxies are presented. More than 50% of the cases
with a definite identification are galaxies with peculiar morphologica
l structure. The individual components of the multiple systems for whi
ch we have measured redshifts show only small redshift differences ind
icating that they are real physical systems.
