M. Takayanagi et I. Hanazaki, OBSERVATION OF INTERMOLECULAR VIBRATIONAL-MODES IN THE 2,3-DIHYDROBENZOFURAN DIMER, Chemical physics letters, 208(1-2), 1993, pp. 5-9
A long progression due to the intermolecular vibrations of the 2,3-dih
ydrobenzofuran dimer is observed in the LIF excitation and fluorescenc
e dip spectra. The origin band of the dimer is red-shifted by about 46
0 cm-1 from that of the monomer. The geometry of the dimer and its cha
nge upon electronic excitation are discussed on the basis of the extra
ordinarily long progression and the large red-shift observed in this s
ystem.
