Abstract
This is a paper presented at a general meeting of the Economic Society of Finland on May 11th, 1992. The author discusses the future for the building materials industry in Finland. According to him there is a f uture for this sector, however gloomy the situation is at the moment. He stresses, however, the growing importance of exports as constructio n activity in Finland will not recover for several years.
