Abstract
A tight-binding formulation has been used to compute the many-body enh anced magnetic susceptibility chi(q) of transition metals around Cr in the periodic table. The pole structure of chi(q) indicates paramagnet ism for V and Mo, antiferromagnetism for Cr and gammaMn, and ferromagn etism for deltaMn at T = 0 K.
