Electrolytic preparation of molybdenum coatings has been investigated
in molten NaCl-KCl, KF, and KF-B2O3 electrolytes containing Na2MoO4 as
the electrochemically active component. Molybdenum can be successfull
y electrodeposited from the molten mixture KF-B2O3-Na2MoO4 in the form
of coherent layers on different electrically conductive substrates. T
he thickness of the layer depends on the temperature and current densi
ty used for deposition.
