R. Pakter et al., INFLUENCE OF WAVE-DISPERSION ON THE SELF-CONSISTENT DYNAMICS OF CYCLOTRON-LASER-TYPE SYSTEMS, Physical review. E, Statistical physics, plasmas, fluids, and related interdisciplinary topics, 47(5), 1993, pp. 3787-3790
In this work, we make use of a Hamiltonian formalism to analyze the wa
ve-particle dynamical interaction that takes place in cyclotronic syst
ems. It is shown that the usual model of test particles moving in exte
rnally given wave fields is good only when the amplitude of the radiat
ion is large enough; otherwise, wave dynamics must be considered and t
he dynamics mentioned undergoes some considerable changes. In this reg
ard, the appearance of new fixed points and the saturation of the auto
resonance process are both analyzed as functions of the dispersion rel
ation of the laser field.
