Bs. Vijayaraman et Hv. Ramakrishna, DISASTER PREPAREDNESS OF SMALL BUSINESSES WITH MICROCOMPUTER-BASED INFORMATION-SYSTEMS, Journal of systems management, 44(6), 1993, pp. 28-32
As organizations, both small and large, become more and more dependent
on their Computer Based Information Systems (CBIS), any interruption
in the availability of CBIS could lead to anywhere from a minor inconv
enience to a permanent loss of business depending on the duration of t
he interruption. Unfortunately, the seriousness of the impact of disas
ter to a CBIS becomes clear to organizations only after the first disa
ster strikes. For some organizations, this lesson may be too costly or
too late. This paper presents the state of practices in 67 small busi
nesses as it pertains to their microcomputer based CBIS disaster prepa
redness.
