Mes2GeX2 (Mes = 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl; X = F, Cl) reacts with [LiPH2(d
me)] (dme = dimethoxyethane) in a 1:2 molar ratio to yield the first 2
,3,5,1,4-triphosphadigermolane derivative 3 as major product. Along 3,
the monosubstituted compound Mes2Ge(PH2)Cl (4) and the 1,1,3,3-tetram
esityl-substituted 2,4,1,3-diphosphadigermetane (2) are formed by the
reaction of Mes2GeCl2 with LiPH2 and were characterized by P-31-NMR sp
